Occupy ALL Streets!

VISION  |  Pilgrim Rest is a Christ-centered ministry endeavoring, through the Holy Spirit,

to be like a city that sits upon a hill; a beacon of hope for all. Habakkuk 2:2

Occupy ALL Streets!

MISSION  |  Our mission is to bring souls to Jesus Christ by addressing the spiritual and natural needs of men, women and children through thought-provoking, spirit-filled and inspiring ministries that immediately impact the life of the whole person. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will achieve this mission through a faithful, humble, servant-oriented, trained leadership staff sensitive to the concerns of the congregation and the community for the edifying of the Body of Christ.

Occupy ALL Streets!

2017 FOCUS  |  In 2015 we began our journey to Occupy All Streets, which is to make Christ known in every endeavor of lives. This year as we continue to Occupy All Streets we do so with an evangelistic passion! After the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus an evangelism mandate became a compelling passion to witness for Christ. Evangelism is the passion the first disciples possessed. A passion so vibrant that when they entered Thessalonica the people of that city said, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also (Acts 17:6)”!!!

Proverbs 11:30 says, “he that wins souls is wise”. We must not fall from the church’s primary mandate which is, “go ye therefore into all the world and preach the gospel baptizing them in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Ghost”. If the world is to be reached, it will be done with our love, our hands, our feet, and our voices. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, declares Matthew 9:37. A report recently went out which said that the greatest shift in church affiliation are the nones and dones. The nones are defined as people who never had a church affiliation while the dones are those who once had a relationship and now have decided it’s no longer worth having.

In 2017, we will endeavor to reach our city in three ways. First, with our labor. I am asking God in 2017 to give each of us a renewed enthusiasm and passion for His Work, His Will, and His Causes. GOD, SET US ABLAZE again as it pertains to our assignments! We can’t inspire others if we slothful, lazy or sluggish. You are the salt of the earth but if the salt loses its savor how can it give seasoning? You are the light of the world… Let your light so shine before men… (Matthew 5:13-14,16).

Secondly, we will reach the city with our lips. I am praying for a boldness that will overcome any hesitation or reluctance to mention the name of Jesus and His saving ability to anyone with whom we may come into contact. We are not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation to every man that believes Romans 1:16.

Lastly, we will reach others with our lifestyle. The greatest testimony for Jesus is a changed life. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). When people met the first disciples they knew they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13). Let us go into 2017 lifting Jesus high. He said, “If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me” (John 12:32). If the world is to be reached, it will be done with our love, our hands, our feet, and our voices.
Now: GO Change the World!
